In order to persevere through any trial, hardship, persecution, affliction you have to believe that things will get better. Under such conditions, Paul writes this letter of hope to the church in a dark time of persecution and affliction, a persevering hope.
2nd Thessalonians is written to give suffering Christians a reason to carry on, a reason to remain steadfast and unmoved. There is a reason for hope. In short, we discover that this hope is found in the certainty of the Lord’s return. And in that hope, as with the church in Thessalonica, we as God’s people can and will persevere. In this series, we will not only discover more about the Lord’s return but gain the same steadfast hope the Thessalonian believer possessed. A hope that can be passed on to every believer.
