The Beginning of Jesus’ Passion: The Danger of Hypocritical Religion – Matthew 23: 29-36
This may sound harsh – but it is better to have cancer and know it, than to have it and pretend that you don’t. Both situations are life threatening, but the first has the hope of treatment. In today’s message, Dr. John echoes Jesus’ words against hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is worse than ignorance or heresay. Those can be treated with truth. But hypocrites knowingly put on a pretense of health to mask their disease. Condemnation is the consequence.
